About Daniel Caporusso
Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) & Registered Nurse

I’m Daniel, though most people call me Dan. I’m a gay cisgender male therapist who takes the work seriously, but not always myself. I believe therapy doesn’t have to feel overly formal or intimidating to be meaningful. I approach therapy collaboratively, with the belief that you are the expert on your own life, and my role is to support you, rather than tell you who you “should” be or what you "should" do.
Before psychotherapy, I worked as a registered nurse at CAMH for four years, supporting individuals experiencing complex and severe mental health challenges, including psychosis, mood disorders, bipolar disorder, and schizophrenia. That experience gave me a strong foundation in crisis management and trauma-informed care, while teaching me how to stay grounded during difficult moments. Safe to say, there’s very little you could say that would shock me.
If you’re looking for a therapist who is genuine, laid-back, direct, and supportive while still encouraging growth, we might be a good fit. At the end of the day, I’m also just a person, an anime nerd and gamer who happens to have the training and experience to help people navigate an overwhelming and stressful world. If any of this resonates with you, I offer a free 15-minute consultation and would be honoured to hear your story.
Experience & Specialties
Populations & Approach
I work with adolescents (14+), adults, couples, and the queer community. I believe meaningful therapy comes from building a real therapeutic relationship where you can feel comfortable being yourself. Together, we create a space where you can feel understood, supported, and empowered to make meaningful change at your own pace.
